The Mayor of the City of Florence Dario Nardella, the Tuscan American Association and its Presidents Maurizio Mancianti and Andrea L. Davis, and the Consul General of the United States of America in Florence Daniela Ballard are pleased to invite you to the traditional TUSCAN AMERICAN AWARD CEREMONY 2023, which will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 5 pm in the Salone dei Cinquecento of Palazzo Vecchio, Florence.

The ceremony will be held in Italian and in English. It will be followed by a reception at De’ Bardi, Via De’ Bardi 23R/25R/27, to honor the 2023 award recipients: the American award recipient The Darby Military Community, named in memory of Brigadier General William O. Darby, Assistant Division Commander of the 10th Mountain Division, killed on April 30, 1945 on the shore of Lake Garda, now under the joint command of the Italian Army Special Forces Command and the US Army Garrison; and the Italian award recipient Chiara Tilesi, film producer and founder of “We Do It Together”, a nonprofit film production company. Florentine, she has lived in Los Angeles for the past 25 years, and is the producer of the movie “Tell It Like a Woman”, Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song.

The special award recipient is James Hayman, American photographer, film and television producer and direct, who will be on the jury of the second edition of the Tuscan American Photography Competition open to students attending American university programs in Tuscany.
