Cultivating friendship between the USA and Tuscany

through cultural, social and educational activities

I was born in Naples in 1957 and was bilingual as a child. I lived in Palermo from 1957-1962 and in Florence from 1965-1970. In the States I grew up in Dallas, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Searcy, Arkansas.

I graduated with a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Art and Physical Education in 1982 and I taught and coached at Dallas Christian Schools from 1982-1988. I taught studio art, bible and physical education and coached girls basketball, football and track. I started working as Director of Harding University in Florence in 1990 where I teach Humanities, Italian, Bible and Physical Education.

My wife Ramona and I have loved our work with Harding's program in Scandicci, Florence. We have two sons, David and Jonathan, both born in Dallas, Texas. I am have been a member of the Tuscan American Association since 1998.

I have been Secretary Treasurer of AACUPI, the American Association of College and University Programs in Italy since 2001.

I coached the Florence American Football team, the Apaches from 1990-1996 and coached the Guelfi from 2002-2004.

I have been a member of the Tiziano Rosso Art Association since 1995. I am active member of the Florence Church of Christ.

I am a painter and regularly participate in art shows both personal and group.
